Ahh, summer is upon us! We have longed for these hot days, snow and winter free. Trips to the beach, outdoor market, and to the little ice cream shop down the street are within our view.
But, don't forget about your pets.
Summer days can be fun for your pets as well, but they can also spell disaster if you don't take steps to prevent heat related injuries.
Be sure and:
1. Keep your pet cool, carry a water bottle or some ice in a bag, stop and let spot enjoy the shade to cool off
2. Don't keep them tied outside without shelter or water
3. Don't leave your pet in your car, even if the windows are cracked
Speak up if you see an animal in distress by alerting the owner or police department
