Lindsay Hamrick, HSUS NH State Director
Lindsay Hamrick works to support local, state and federal policies protecting pets. She holds a M.S. in Animals & Public Policy from Tufts Veterinary School and was previously the New Hampshire State Director for HSUS, passing stronger animal cruelty laws. Prior to her role in advocacy, she spent a decade as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing operations at three of New Hampshire’s animal shelters.
Tona McCarthy, Director of Field Services,

Tona McCarthy is responsible for assisting law enforcement in Merrimack County with cases of animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect. Prior to Joining the PMSPCA, Tona worked as an ACO for a Police Department in NH.

Detective Hoffman will walk you through this multi-year investigation and the failures and successes along the way. You will learn how to recognize signs of sexual abuse in animals, how to objectively evaluate evidence, and techniques for online investigations.

Detective Jeremy Hoffman, Fairfax County Police
Jeremy Hoffman is a detective with the Fairfax County Police Department, in Virginia, where he has served for the past eighteen years. Detective Hoffman spent nine years in the department’s Major Crimes Bureau, where he worked in various units to include, Auto Theft, Child Exploitation, Robbery and Cold Case Homicide. Detective Hoffman has also served as an FBI Task Force Officer since 2011 and has been assigned to the Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, and the Violent Crimes Task Force. Detective Hoffman recently transferred to the Organized Crime and Intelligence Bureau where he serves in the Overdose Investigations Unit.
During Detective Hoffman’s tenure with the Child Exploitation Unit, he began investigating the sexual exploitation of animals. In 2013, Detective Hoffman began investigating a notorious zoophile in Virginia known as Blackstratu5, who had posted online videos of himself and his associate’s sexual exploits with animals.
